Communications & Operations Internship
Play an important role in Cleaner California Coast’s communications and outreach strategy while building real world skills in environmental communications, public engagement, content creation, and grassroots advocacy. This internship is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful environmental education rooted in Leave No Trace principles while building a strong communications and public engagement portfolio.
Interns support CCC by creating social media content, drafting short-form blog or newsletter copy, and turning field work and partner updates into clear public storytelling. Interns also help produce graphics in Canva (and Adobe, depending on experience), assist with basic metrics tracking and reporting, and help identify what content resonates so we can continuously improve our outreach. Depending on the role and timing, interns may also support outreach events in the field.
You will work closely with our communications lead through weekly check-ins, structured task lists, and clear feedback, so you finish the internship with a polished portfolio and practical experience communicating about real conservation work.
Bilingual Spanish applicants are encouraged to apply.
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship, but you can apply credit towards a college internship or community service hours. Based on funding and university policies, stipends may be available.
To apply: submit a cover letter, resume, additional questions, and references.
